Yoga vs. Walking: Busting belly Fat, Boosting Immunity

It’s no secret that as we age, our ability to fight off disease–and body fat–heads south…

It’s a consequence of aging–or is it?

According to the March/April ’11 Well Being Journal, a new study involving 1,000 subjects showed that those who were regular exercisers recovered from a cold in almost HALF the time as it took subjects who exercised no more than once per week.

And that wasn’t just young folks. The subjects were 18 to 85 and both male and female.

Just one more reason to keep hitting your F4X workouts regularly. You strengthen your muscles and immunity–and on days you don’t lift, go on walks or do yoga. Either is a stress release, but…

According to the September ’11 Bottom Line Health, subjects in a new study practiced yoga or walked at a moderate pace three times a week. After 12 weeks the yoga group reported “significantly greater mood improvements and anxiety reduction than the walking group.”

Of course, more or less stress could depend on WHO you walk with. LOL. Seriously, it looks like yoga can provide more stress release–which can lead to a fat-burning increase…

Our friend and colleague Kris Fondran did a study with her Yoga Fitness Flow program and found that yoga can burn MORE calories than running. Wow.

One of her study participants said, “Not only did I lose weight during the time of your study, but I became more flexible, felt energized and felt good about my body and self, inside and out.”

Yoga is a perfect addition to your weekly fat-burning habit–with anti-aging, immune-building benefits too. Check out Kris’ article on this healthful, revitalizing way to get leaner and feel great HERE <==
